DJ Marc E

Since the age of 12 Marc was fascinated by the way DJ’s mixed one song on to the next song.  In the former Rollerskatedisco in his hometown Scheveningen where he used to go frequently, he noticed how beautiful two songs can blend in to eachother.   So he went up to the DJ booth and saw the equipment they used.
Marc started saving for his first set of equipment and within a year he bought his first two vinyl record players from Bose and a mixer from Alecto.   You have to start somewhere.
In his room at home he built a DJ booth where he could nicely set up and install his equipment, which expanded by the year.  Bigger speakers, bigger amplifiers etcetera.
At the age of 19 Marc bought the nostalgic Technics SL1200 vinyl record players.  He started buying more and more vinyl records to keep practising with mixing.   He loved his hobby, but never did anything with his skills.  It was all just for fun at home.
At the age of 25 he bought his first semi professional CD players and a new mixer from Pioneer.  He started mixing more and more, but always at home.
It all started with the Dutch public holiday Queensnight.  In the heart of the center of The Hague, where Marc was the manager of a mobile phone shop, he organised parties for his friends and acquaintances.  From the first floor there was a beautiful view over the partying people on the Plein.  And Marc created a whole stage from that whole floor.  Huge speakers were put in the windows to blow the beats outside.  While Marc and other DJ’s were playing there tunes, the enormous crowd of thousands of people was going wild in the streets Korte Poten and Plein.
This party was repeated for several years, until Marc decided to organise boat parties in Amsterdam on Queensday and Gaypride.  For many years this is still a tradition.   Queensday, now known as Kingsday, and Gaypride are two of the most busy days in Amsterdam.  Tens of thousands of people come to the Amsterdam canals to either party on the water, or in the bars next to the canals and enjoy the view of all the partyboats.
Marc played together with supervocalist Petra van Haren (MC Choral) and also Lee McKing, saxophone player Gijs Huijs Ace on Sax, drummer Bart Jan van den Beukel B on Drums and Hed Kandi and Men & Cherry resident DJ Dennis van den Berg De la Montagne.
In 2008 Marc launched an event named “Splash on the Beach”.  This was a festival located on the beach of Dutch Water Dreams, and indoor surfers paradise and outside wild water rafting lake.  On that event DJ’s were booked like Gregor Salto, Hardwell, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano.  Marc enjoyed playing his tunes before these nowadays worldfamous DJ’s played.
Marc is often playing at private parties, weddings and anniversaries, in event centers, restaurants (Catch Scheveningen), nightclubs (Millers, The Hague) or at festivals (Beachfestival, Haarlemmermeer).  The main genre is House music.  But also classics, disco, dance, R&B can be played.
Since 2015 Marc is a resident DJ at the Beachfestival in Haarlemmermeer.  A festival with approximately 2000 to 2500 visitors.
